Kopana Terry
Kopana Terry is a photographer, musician, producer, preservationist, oral historian, and archivist. A native of Eastern Kentucky (Morgan County), she is engaged in the effects of climate change on Place and Appalachian identity. Her photographs explore the people of Central Appalachia, particularly Eastern Kentucky. By day, she is the Archivist at the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and Curator of Newspapers in the Special Collections Research Center at the University of Kentucky. She holds a BA in Fine Art Photography, and a Master’s in Library and Information Science and will complete her Master’s in Historic Preservation in May 2025. More of Kopana’s work and background at
