SCHOLARSHIP FUND SUPPORT
More than 90% of children receive financial assistance to participate in our dyslexia summer program, after-school music and art programs, and weekly tutoring programs. The need for scholarship support for children is growing.
Gifts of any size will immediately be put to work providing new opportunities to learn an instrument, explore their creativity through fiber and visual arts, and educational support for children at-risk of reading failure.
WHAT WE DO
As a whole, the Settlement offers:
- Educational services for children with dyslexia and learning differences through in school reading labs at partner institutions, afterschool tutoring services at host sites throughout the region, and a summer school offered virtually and on our historic campus;
- Workshops for people interested in Appalachian literature, folk arts, and heritage;
- Folk arts programming for Knott County students and the broader community; and
- Community service programs, such as Grow Appalachia, which supports growing healthy food, locally, and address food insecurity issues.
