Our Team

Rita Ritchie began her education right here in Knott County at Emmalena Elementary. Rita finished her formal education at Knott Central High School. Rita married her husband of almost 30 years, Randall Ritchie and had two wonderful children: Seth and Timber. Seth is building rockets as a Space Science Engineer at Morehead University. Rita’s oldest daughter, Timber made her living in Florida soaking up the sun every day and marketing products for a pharmaceutical company. 

Now that Rita’s kids have left the nest, she spends her spare time doing her favorite things:  trying new recipes, shopping, going to church, and enjoying the beautiful, natural scenery that surrounds her. Rita is a compassionate, loving member of the Settlement School family, but if you chew with your mouth open around her you can throw that softness out the window.

When Rita isn’t diving into some of her favorite hobbies or taking care of her family, she serves as the Office manager for the Hindman Settlement School. Rita is the first face constituents see when they grace our doors and she takes that as an opportunity to make sure that person has everything they need whether it’s directions for newcomers or whiteout for the office staff, Rita makes sure that the office runs like a well- oiled (and well supplied) machine. In addition to keeping the office supplies in check, Rita also makes sure the craft shop is always presentation ready.
