Last Saturday, November 12, marked the launch of this latest edition to our programming and the turnout was just as we hoped. The aromas of a Thanksgiving feast filled the room, inviting loved ones and new friends alike to sit down and celebrate the night. While the beautiful dessert table, curated by This Is How We Roll Baking, enticed the crowd to come back for seconds.
With full bellies and the whole room aglow with delight and laughter, our own Sarah Kate Morgan ushered younger attendees to a painting and art station she had prepared in the corner of the dining hall. Young hopeful faces joyfully smattered their canvases with watercolors, imagining their own little worlds onto paper, pulling inspiration from the falling leaves outside.
Amongst the happy commotion the great folks at Vibrant Emotional Health, in coordination with The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, were there to encourage and provide supportive conversations for all ages, in this casual and friendly environment. We look forward to having them back next time!
The beautiful artwork and wonderful meal prepared by our tremendous kitchen staff Diane and Vivian, was then followed by a performance by the local talent of Ben Fugate and The Burning Trash Band. Their rockin’ performance filled the hearts of everyone in the building, and was a fantastic way to wrap up a great evening. Ben even helped us give away several door prizes throughout the show, which will absolutely be a regular occurrence

Going forward we are hopeful that this event series can be a safe space for the community to grow through kinship and compassion, while offering exciting weekend fun for the whole family!
