Winter Burrow
DECEMBER 13-15, 2024
A Gathering of Scholars & Creatives
Winter Burrow is a great opportunity for many of our Hindman families to come together, such as our creative writers, our artists, our musicians, our community organizers, our teachers, and our scholars. We can share expertise and ideas across discipline and genre and see how all our interests weave together and overlap.
In dreaming of this conference, we settled on the name Winter Burrow because we wanted to have an event that brought our Hindman family together at a time when campus is usually quiet, like calling the critters back into the den during those cold, darker months. It’s a feeling of safety, rest, connection, dreaming, and learning.
It’s the time of year of mind-work and heart-work before we emerge to the body-work of spring and summer.
It’s a pause of warmth and hunkering down with our kin.
It’s beautiful as a noun and a verb.
Multiple registration options are available for the second annual Winter Burrow Literary & Arts Conference!
Conference registration, including access to all sessions, presentations, and special events, is $75.
For those opting to utilize shared campus housing in one of our historic cottages, the cost is $100 for both Friday and Saturday nights. We will strive to honor all housing and roommate requests. Additional lodging may be available in area hotels for those wishing to commute.
Meals are available for $100, beginning with lunch on Friday and concluding with breakfast on Sunday. Our kitchen can accommodate both vegan and gluten-free dietary needs.
Current college students and session presenters receive complimentary registration, but may choose to pay for housing or meals.
